Keeping the MinSun the Faith II

The “rollercoaster ride” of emotions is always an uneven mixture of excitement, joy, disappointment, melancholy and other synonymous feelings. The ride may not always be a pleasant one but it gives a feeling of anticipation for another thrilling rise after the dreaded fall. The same experience is true when it comes to my constant pining for another MinSun sighting, longing for more display of MinSun chemistry and waiting for additional hints in their respective responses for love-related questions during interviews.


After a tinge of momentary sadness for the lack of sweet MinSun interaction at the Sept. 6 BOF Premium Event and TBS Academy Nights Interview in Japan as many were hoping for a replay of the MinSun connection during BOF promo in Taiwan , another upsurge of positive emotions surfaced with the release of the video for Chouchou magazine photoshoot where MinSun displayed the well-loved JunDi connection that developed during BOF filming.


Seems like this thirst for more MinSun sighting can never be quenched. Such hankering was answered with Lee Min Ho and Goo Hye Sun individual sighting during the 14th PIFF in Busan last Oct 8. The unexpected appearance of Goo Hye Sun triggered anticipation for yet another MinSun moment during and after the event. Except for a snapshot of a separate sighting after the event, the much expected MinSun interaction was neither captured by cam/vid nor reported in print which caused a slight decline in MinSun shippers’ spirit meter but again countered by a sudden increase. A couple of photos showing close proximity of MinSun from each other based on their assigned seat equates to a very remote possibility that two well-acquainted person will miss to notice each other’s presence (much more if there was a prior personal talk about one’s attendance). Hence, even without the actual footage of a spazz-worthy moment, I was contented thinking of what could have transpired after.

Just like an answered prayer, MinSun made a surprise appearance with their ever reliable friend Kim Bum at Kim Joon’s Youthful March Musical on Oct 21. The threesome episode could have been a remake of the SS501 Persona concert sighting minus the jovial side of Goo Hye Sun highlighted with a more hyperactive crowd. The absence of Hye Sun’s cheerful nature as evidenced by a serious look on her face matched with the sweater hood worn over her head didn’t go unnoticed. Despite this, seeing MinSun retain the same seating arrangement with Min Ho handing Hye Sun a drink is already a sight to behold for me.


Making a comparison and drawing conclusions can hardly be missed out but then each scene has a different story to it. Goo Hye Sun’s “odd” behaviour could have been attributed to a discomfort from the crowd’s nonstop probing and/or due to her well-being at that time. Further observation of the few precious photos shared in the net showed Hye Sun lagging behind Min Ho (and Kim Bum). My initial thoughts was on why MinSun were not walking side by side but looking on the right perspective, I saw a picture of gentleman choosing to be in the frontline to shield a lady from any possible commotion from the expectant and enthusiastic crowd. It’s kinda sweet of Min Ho as it looked like he was checking on Hye Sun. In my eyes, Lee Min Ho is the knight in shining armour for Goo Hye Sun as he has always been not just as Goo Jun Pyo to Geum Jan Di but in real life as well. (as nutty put it -- from reel to real.)

Keeping the MinSun faith means always surviving a constantly shaky, rollercoaster “ride” of emotions originating from the thrilling MinSun sightings spiced up with traces of negative vibes every now and then. The recent news/speculations on yet to be confirmed transfer of Min Ho’s residence, the timely opening of Hye Sun’s Cafe Manolin, the mystery behind the rings and the subtle hints springing from respective answers in recent interviews (e.g. LMH: “It will be good if I have a girlfriend. The most wanted gift I wish for is a girlfriend.”, GHS: My ultimate dream is to get married and become a good mom.) keep me on track. It could be a road less travelled but I’m more than willing to continue the ride or even walk an extra mile if I have to. Minsun ride, anyone?
